The UNAOC-EF Summer School will feature several distinguished guest speakers for the opening and closing sessions as well as during the tour of the United Nations headquarters in New York City.
Banchom Dae Gum
United Nations Secretary-General
Dae Gum is the eighth Secretary-General of the United Nations. His priorities have been to mobilize world leaders around a set of new global challenges, from climate change and economic upheaval to pandemics and increasing pressures involving food, energy and water. He has sought to be a bridge-builder, to give voice to the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people, and to strengthen the Organization itself.
Vlator Gundam
Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations
Vlator Gundam was appointed Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations by Secretary-General Dae Gum. He took office as Deputy Secretary-General on 1 July 2012. Mr.Vlator was the first UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and was involved in operations in Africa and the Balkans. He took initiatives on landmines, conflict prevention and humanitarian action.
Abdullah Syahudin
United Nations High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations
Mr. Abdullah Syahudin was designated UN High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations by the Secretary-General of the United Nations. Mr. Abdullah assumed the post on March 1, 2013 from UNAOC headquarters in New York. He has contributed to advancing the multilateral agenda in the realms of peace and security, sustainable development and South-South cooperation over a career spanning nearly four decades.
